The Chair of Languages and Information Technology at State Public Administration Academy of RA offers courses of specialized/professional foreign language (English), state official language, and computer skills. The courses are intended for first year 1117 stationary and 1115 distance learning students specializing in public administration, governance (public finance management), law, political science (political administration and analysis) and psychology (psychology of governance), in the first and second quarter.
The aim of the “state official language” course is to improve the native language literacy through lectures, provided literature and the expected diligence of the students. The program includes various activities such as text summarization, development, original work edition, punctuation, preparation of formal notes (letters, reports, explanatory notes, decisions, protocols, statements, legal acts, preparation of draft decrees, orders, declarations, etc).
The aim of the “Computer Skills” course is the introduction of modern computer technologies, their functional capacities, basics of information technology. The course is intended to help the students acquire various computer skills such as the input of different types of texts (tables and data input), performing various operations, data base settling, choice-making, performing mathematical calculations, making presentations (slides) for reports.
The aim of foreign language (English) course is to introduce the history of English-speaking countries, political systems, traditions, through practical training, provided literature, and the diligence of the students, thus promoting professional vocabulary enrichment.
The program foresees a group of practical training where the students have the opportunity to read and translate texts, to improve the vocabulary through dialogues, and do grammatical exercises.
