Professor Barbara Coe, University of Maryland, is an expected guest at the Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia. Back 2001-2002, Ms. Coe taught at the Armenian School of Public Administration for one year within U.S. Department of State’s Fulbright Program. And three years ago, the administration of the Academy invited her to deliver lectures to the Master’s Program students of the Academy for a week.

October 27-28, Barbara Coe was again hosted by the Public Administration Academy. She conducted a two-day workshop for staff and Master’s Program students of the Academy. The topic was again related to leadership issues: “Leadership for Sustainable Development.” Parallel to interactive  discussions, the professor suggested  case studies during the workshop, told about how leaders carry out changes, proposed new solutions to plan implementation and answered a question of particular importance for a leader: “What do we want and what our next steps should be ?.”

Mr Arsen Lokyan, Rector of the Public Administration Academy, expressed his gladness on the occasion of Ms. Coe’s visit and noted that the professor was always welcome in this institution. Students attending her lectures apply the knowledge gained during their future job activities, the Rector said.

Ms. Coe told she was always very glad to visit Armenia, because she loved our country and worked with the students of the Public Administration Academy with great pleasure. By the way, the day before she had met her former students currently holding important positions in the public administration system of the RA.

At the end of the two-day workshop the attendees received certificates of participation.
